This blog will follow a group of 6 women who have been meeting and creating since the year 2000. We started out only creating with fabric...doing art wall hangings and quilts, clothing, and more. We have now expanded into creating with fabric, doing ATCs, making cards, hand dying fabric, etc. You name it, we are willing to try it. Come along with us on our adventure!

Horseshoe Nail Cross
I am finally finished with my 'beading project challenge.' Phew! Didn't think I'd get it done. I am pleased with the final results, tho. Originally, I meant to use a piece of Laurel Burch Kitty fabric, but then changed my mind. So my next attempt was with a Horseshoe Nail Cross (given to me by Mary's hubby, Kit.) I had planned to make it into a pin, but then changed it to a small piece of wall art. I've used velvet, felt, fiber, raffia, size 11, 13 & 15 beads. It was fun! (Thanks Kit...for the inspiration piece.) (Stole Mary's idea to add a little fringe on the bottom.) Did I say, "Fun!!"

Wow, it really turned out wonderfully, I love the way you put the ribbons so subtly in the background, kind of repeating the cross in the foreground. You did good! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful, Kit is a dear. Not sure which one of you did this but you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jan & Marlene, for your compliments. I'm happy with the results and very, very glad that it's finished. Kit is a gem, and I'm so glad that he gave me this cross. Hope he likes the results!
ReplyDeleteMary said: Yes...April did this beautiful piece. April...It just turned out beautiful. I can see how you got carried away and turned it into a little wall hanging. I really like the look of the fringy (is that a word???) type thread you used. It just is perfect...FANTASTIC!
