Fun with S&B's

Here are a couple of photos from last week at Mary's when Sharon came and guided us in a project that involved sea shells, glue and glitter.

I'm sure Mary showed photos of the finished work last week. These are "action" shots.

We all had fun but missed Pinky.

This week we met at Jan's and here are some calendar pages that Lyla made for Pinky's calendar. Very festive!

Since Lyla can't join us she has to mail all the pages to us after we send her the size requirements. You can tell she knows that Pinky likes kitties. Heck, we all like kitties!

Above shows a page Pinky made for Jan's calendar. So much detail!

Even I like kitties so Pinky made me (Jan) a calendar page with her own cats featured on it.

Our long lost member Gwen showed up for a surprise visit, it was fun to catch up with her a bit.

Pinky, April and Karen busy with their projects.

Mary worked on a calendar page.

Karen was making cards.

Pinky, stoically crocheting on her latest rug.

April continued to create her travel journal. It is coming along wonderfully.
Jan worked on her crochet rug too, rolling her strips into a ball. Not exciting enough to show a photo. Truth is I forgot to take one.

See you next week at Pinky's!

Glittery Shells For Christmas...

Today, Sharon Esch joined us again and gave us a little workshop in glitzing up shells for Christmas tie ons or ornaments. It was fun to do. We found that the lighter glitter seems to work a little better so you could still see the shape of the shells and the details on them.

Sharon's husband, David, drilled holes in a bunch of shells for us to use...Thank you David! She brought ribbon, glitter, glue, beads, and supplies for us to use. Mary had shells here too and more ribbon, etc., so we had more than enough supplies to work with.

The pictures below show the finished projects for you to see...enjoy!

#1 Karen's, #2 Sharon's, #3 Mary's, #4 Jan's, #5 April's...

Pinky was not feeling well today and we missed her. Get well soon, Pink!

Kit's Working On Some Wind Spinners...

Just thought you might like to see what my husband is working on. He loves to recycle in what he does and these are old spoons that will be catching the wind when he is all done. He tried some air on it when I was in looking at it and it was spinning like crazy. It should be pretty cool in the yard when he is done. He has wanted to make some of these for quite some time. I'm happy he is taking the time to try it.

Happy Birthday Pinky!!! And Many More...

Today, we not only had fun working on alcohol inks, but we celebrated Pinky's birthday! What a haul this woman made!!! She received lots of scrapbooking supplies, dishes, a beautiful pot (lime green, of course) to put a plant in,...you name it, she got it! It was fun to watch her open all her goodies. Most of us garage sale and find some great things during the year for birthday...very fun.

Pendants Pinky Brought For Us To Work On...

We're Alcoholing...With Inks :>))

We met at Karen's this Tuesday and had several hours of fun working with alcohol inks. We all brought some items to work with. Jan brought some two sided dominoes without dots and some neat brass tags, Pinky brought some pendants she found on the coast and some tiny dominoes, April brought some glasses and a flower frog, and I (Mary) brought some light switch plates. As usual, we all shared inks & supplies that most of us forgot! April, bless her heart, brought us plastic gloves, which were really necessary and all forgot to bring...except Jan :>))

I realized I didn't take pics of the pendants and only have mine to show as an example, so am hoping Jan might pop in here or April and post a couple pics of theirs too. They were fun to do.

The inks most of us used were Jim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks. You can find them at most art supply stores or larger craft houses. With these inks, you put drops on an absorbent pad and dab them on the item. You can use several colors if you choose. You at a drop or spray of another product (help me here, Jan or April...the name) that makes the inks do wonderful things...spreads out the ink and makes wonderful designs...so neat to watch what happens.

The pics show what each of us did on the switch plates and I am hoping April will post her glass work. They turned out wonderful!

Top L April, top R Karen, mid L Pinky, mid R Jan, bottom Mary (you can see how the additive sprayed or dropped on makes the inks spread...very coooool.
