Progress On April's New Rag Rug...

As you can see, April is working on her new rug that will go around the toilet. She amazes me how she can make it square so easily. April used some sheets and some fabric on hers and the colors blend so nicely. She is using her oval rag rug in her kitchen now. You guessed it! Both rugs have purple and teal in them...her fav colors.

It is her daughter, Amber's, birthday today. Happy Birthday Am! Have a wonderful day.

Pinky's New Project...

This is Pinky's newest beading project. She just started it today. It looks a little like Louie, doesn't it? She has just started the beading around the edges at this time and is not sure yet just how much beading she will be doing on it. You can tell she has a thing for cats :>)) It will be fun to see what she adds this next week. She was using seed beads for the edging around the cat. The neat thing about a beading project is that it is sooo portable and easy to bring.

Jan's Tuesday Projects....

Jan was showing us all the beautiful dog collars she makes. They are soooo cooooool! She sells them at the local Vet's office in Astoria. She takes wonderful fabric and makes dog collars that match a dog's personality. Of course, the owner chooses the collar, so that might have something to do with it :>)) Both Pinky and Karen ended up buying some. They couldn't resist...

Double click on the heart brooch that Jan made. Isn't it beautiful? She can take the tiniest object and start beading around it and it becomes a beautiful masterpiece. She is an inspiration to all of us.

Terrific Tuesday!

Mary said: As usual, Tuesday was a fun time and everyone was there. Joan was even early! We did our tin box trade. Each of us drew a name of someone in the group and decorated a tin the size of an Altoids tin and add little goodies to the inside. I think we all really enjoyed this challenge and I know the tins we received were very special.

After the tin trade, we discussed and started working on a small beaded project each. Some of us were really going outside our comfort zone in these beading projects. All of us decided to use a fabric print to decorate with beads. Each of us got a good start on our projects. I have to say that Karen was the happiest beader. She was really enjoying herself working on decorating a horse. Jan started a horse also, April a cat, Pinky a fish, Joan some flowers, and Mary a chameleon. I can't wait to see what everyone has done by next week. I went home and worked some more on mine that evening.
