This blog will follow a group of 6 women who have been meeting and creating since the year 2000. We started out only creating with fabric...doing art wall hangings and quilts, clothing, and more. We have now expanded into creating with fabric, doing ATCs, making cards, hand dying fabric, etc. You name it, we are willing to try it. Come along with us on our adventure!

Mary says: Jan...Refresh My Mind...
Mary says: When you want to transfer rust item to cloth, do you make the cloth wet first?
I don't know how Jan does it, but I dampen the cloth with white vinegar, wring it out, put the rusting material in/on it then seal it up in a plastic bag and try to be patient. (Jan will tell you I'm not good at this part and she's right...) But there are a few different methods for rust transfer....this is just what I use.
Mary says: Thank you, Anne. That is so helpful. My husband did two metal works of a raven and whale in coastal Native American look. They have rusted (we live on the WA coast) and thought they might really be neat on fabric. I will try it! Thanks for your help. Mary
