Use Your Old Cards to Make New...Fun!!!

This was kind of fun...I just used parts of old Christmas cards to make new cards. I really enjoyed this project because I do like to recycle and reuse and this is another perfect way to do just that...

Karen's Work For The Day...

Karen doesn't fool around on Tuesdays! As you can see, she was busy making cards and ATCs. I love the sunshine one...although I admit I am partial to sunshines :>)) Karen can make card making look so easy and she uses everything she can find to produce beautiful cards. She recycles so many things to include in her work. I love to see what she will do next.

In this picture, she is picking out collars for her two buddies.

Mary's Little Book and Cards...

Mary said: I finally finished my little book and will be sending it to my friend, Karen, in Mosier, Oregon. Each of the little pockets of the book contain a tag or inchie or? There are many surprises in the pages. I tied some colorful fibers to tiny shells and beads for the finishing touch.

When I finished with the book, I worked on two cards, so it was a pretty productive time.

Karen's Little Book Project...

Karen worked on two little books today. Her other book is at the upper left corner and will be included when I show a pic of all the books together. I apologize for not keeping better track this time of who's was who. Both of her books had stamping on them and so colorful. She made her pages on this one from pages Jan had made herself...beautiful colors.

April's Key Challenge...

April's idea was wonderful! She took some recycled parts from a wind chime and assembled them with many keys hanging with fishing swivels. She painted the recycled parts (a butterfly on top) with alcohol paints in vivid purples and teals...just beautiful. The sound that they keys make is beautiful. I thought this was such a unique idea for our keys...perfect!

Mary's Key Challenge and Misc.

Mary said: My challenge turned into a pillow. Quite awhile ago I did some rust dying and had a neat piece of fabric to work with. I arranged the keys in a circle and stitched them all on with rust colored thread. After the keys were all on, I did a bit of beading on it and eventually sewed it into a pillow cover. I put the slip cover onto a recycled pillow and there it goes...This was a fun project. I loved what everyone else did also...we are all so different. The little cowgirl box is something that I worked on today. It is a small wooden box that I covered in old stamps and then put pics of cowgirls in the 4 openings. It was fun to do.

PINK TUESDAY...

We had such a fun day on Tuesday at Pink's. There was a lot of laughing going on as we discussed various subjects and worked on our individual projects. It was May 4 and the deadline for our Challenge. The challenge was to make something that would be the size of a piece of computer paper. It could be any media...paper, painting, fabric, quilted, photography, etc.
I am going to start with mine so it will go to the bottom and someone else will end up at the very top. My favorite was My Favorite Cowboy...Roy Rogers. I really had fun with this and hope to put it in the Cowboy Room.

I put the close up upside down and couldn't remove it . Bear with me...

DAWG Round Robin...

Hi Girlies...Got my last two cards and finished them today to pass on to the next person. Just thought I would share them with you.

Clear Rolling Pin With Shells...

I found a clear glass rolling pin in a garage sale for one dollar and put about an inch of genuine Long Beach Peninsula sand inside. I then went through my basket of shells and found any that would fit inside...also some tiny rocks and pieces of drift wood. The neat part about this shell container is that you can just roll it a bit and have a whole different scene...soooooo cooooool! Since then, I have found a pink clear one and another clear one to fill. Haven't done those yet, but will. I love reusing items to make something completely different.
