5 GIVE A WAYS COMING UP!!!!!

Boy, there was lots of laughing going on at Pinky's Tuesday. Our topic of the day was most embarrassing moments and did we have some! No, I can't share them with you...that's the neat part of this group. What comes to S & B stays at S & B. :>))

We were all pretty much working on different things.

Jan was getting torn sheet strips ready to make another crocheted rag rug. She is starting with multicolored strips, but felt it needed a bit of a break with some red plain fabric mixed in. I think it is going to be a stunning rug.

April was practicing her calligraphy. She says she hasn't done it for awhile, but what she was doing looked fantastic!

Pinky was working on a new iris folding pattern. She was trying some new papers and they turned out beautiful.

Karen was working on a few of her art journal pages. She used her hand made coyote stamp on one of them. Check out the picture.

Mary was working on Easter cards. She used vintage postcards and made new cards to give away. She used both front and back of the vintage cards in the project.

We will meet at Jan's next week for a little tutorial in art journaling. I think this will be a real challenge for this person, especially...ready to give it a go.

GET READY FOR OUR GIVE A WAYS!!!! WE ARE GOING TO HAVE 5 OF THEM!!! JAN WILL START WITH THE FIRST ONE. PLEASE COME AND COMMENT ON OUR BLOG TO ENTER...EVEN BETTER IF YOU FOLLOW US :>))

Postcard Tuesday

We had a postcard exchange and created and mailed each other postcards.  On Tuesday we brought all that we had received and showed them to each other.  Above you can see the ones that Mary created.

These are Pinky's.  Unfortunately, some of the elements she had attached fell off in transit so they arrived looking a bit plain.

This is a close up of one of Pinky's that made it intact.  It is very cool with that image of She Who Waits.

These are the ones from Karen.  The Roy Rogers one is for, who else, Mary. :-J

.
These are Lyla's.  One of hers hasn't arrived yet but hopefully it will.
April sent everyone two she had so much fun making them.
These are April's also.  Very neat, and she even used some orange which is not her favorite color.
We had a guest show up.  Nita, April's cousin joined us.  She is quite crafty herself and usually has something interesting she is working on.  She just came for the company this time and we were happy to see her.
These are Jan's.  I took the picture before I mailed them.  Unfortunately, the flower on the pink one fell off in transit, and Mary hasn't received hers yet either.  I hope these wayward postcards find their way home.
It was a fun trade, we will likely do it again soon.  In the meantime, April gave us all greeting card sized puzzle blanks to embellish as our next challenge.  That ought to be fun also.

Mary Was Being Sneaky...

I hope no one realized I was working on my post cards :>)) They have to be mailed by the 20th, so I needed to get on the stick! I did do a couple cards to try and fool 'em. I'm enclosing a pic of a thank you card.

Karen (alias Gobblezoomburp)

We missed Pinky for a good part of our day as she had an appt. She joined us in the afternoon until the rest of the gang had to head back to Jewell.

Karen, as usual, was quietly making her little masterpieces. She told us that her sister, Lyla (honorary member :>)) would be joining us in June for our Tuesday at Karen's. We are all excited to meet Lyla.

Can you tell she loves dogs and birds? Double click to see the detail.

Hi Lyla!

Jan's beaded horse

In our recent beading projects, Jan decided to use this image of a horse printed on black fabric to embellish. She cut out the image, put it on a piece of red craft felt and beaded and embroidered it. Then she couched down a fluffy piece of yarn around the edge of the black before putting a black fabric on the back, bringing the edges around to the front and using blanket stitch, making a binding. It is supposed to be a postcard but it is a bit big for that. I'm sending it to Emma over at http://emma-alittlebitofeverything.blogspot.com/ She is having a birthday and 50 people are sending her birthday postcards. I'm #49.

Jan's treasures

These are the postcards that I received in trade from the other S&B's. They are all great, aren't they? I love them.

Here are my ATC's from the group. They are each one little works of art. So much detail in each one! Wonderful. Jan

The second picture is of the match boxes Pinky decorated for us. The other pictures are of our postcard trade.

Tuesday's Christmas Party...A Little Late...

Mary said: Tuesday was soooo fun! We had our belated Christmas party. All of us exchanged names this year and did the exchange on Tuesday. I think everyone was as thrilled as I was with my goodies. We were also exchanging our postcard size ATC's. As if we didn't have enough to do...we all brought rubber stamps we are no longer using and put them out on the table for anyone to take. It was great...take the old and leave with the new. I love my stamps! I figured that we would probably only have a little bit of time left, so brought a tub of air dry clay and we each did some rolling out, stamping, and just generally fiddling around with it. I had never used it before. Jan has done things out of it and probably has the most experience with it. You can stamp it and put what you stamp (after painting or embellishing) on cards, etc...whatever you choose. It wasn't really a workshop, but just a little goof off time...very fun!

I'm going to post some pictures now of what we were doing.

Pinky ended up making us all small boxes of matches covered. She did a little creative stamping or drawing on each one...so neat!
